Note: While Gottschall Baker often combines multiple techniques in her sculptures, the lost wax kilncasting technique used to create the hand in the main image will not be covered during class.

Treat yourself to an immersive glass fusing experience at the Bullseye Glass Co. Factory in Portland, Oregon! This unique opportunity is happening November 2-6, 2026, and is for Bay Area customers. It includes behind-the-scenes tours, hands-on projects, six nights' accommodation, and so much more.

NOTE: Class runs Monday–Friday. We recommend arriving in Portland on Sunday and departing Saturday. Hotel stays are included in the price of class for Sunday night through Friday night. No cancellations, exchanges, or refunds of the class fee after September 2. We highly recommend travel insurance that will cover your class fee and travel costs in case you are unable to attend.

In this live online class, you will explore the intrigues of glass chemistry, the subtle and dramatic reactive potential of various glass styles, how some glasses can develop unusual surfaces, and how to work with silver foil. This orientation includes a detailed online lesson followed by an in-person session.
