Glass stringers, thin threads of physical glass, are a valuable addition to any glass artist’s library of materials. They provide a dynamic means of adding accent colors, crisp lines or series of lines in various diameters, or even small dots to any fusing project.
The first in the Optic Topics series, Optic Topics: Harmonics introduces how to use volume control/displacement to physically distort a pattern of stringers, repeatably and intentionally, into an hourglass shape similar in appearance to a graph of harmonic waves.
