Welcome to Santa Fe Tile Saw Orientation! With the help of this online tutorial and in-person orientation you will soon understand the basics of operating a Tile Saw during Open Studio at Resource Center Santa Fe.
In the first part of class, you’ll follow along with the quick Tile Saw Orientation video and its downloadable Class Guide. This will give you a basic overview of tile saw operation and safety practices. In the second part of class, you’ll schedule an appointment at Bullseye Resource Center Santa Fe. During your appointment, you’ll receive in-person, hands-on oversight of your tile saw competency using a small piece of provided glass. After you've demonstrated that you know your way around the tile saw, you will be approved to rent and use it for your own Bullseye glass projects!
To get started, sign up, then download your Class Guide. It contains lots of helpful information, plus the link and password you'll need to access the video tutorial.
Please note: this orientation does not teach glassworking methods or introduce projects. To find inspirational applications for the tile saw, check out videos like Tile Saw Basics or Pattern Bar: Flow Slab, available through a $45 yearly subscription to Bullseye Videos.
Requirements
Long pants and closed toed shoes are required. An apron, eye protection, and rubber boots will be provided. You may also bring your own boots or other closed-toed shoes you don’t mind getting wet.
We look forward to seeing you!
