Details

Learn how to translate your personal drawings and photography into unique glass artwork. Students will focus on using hand-cut and photographic (light-sensitive) masking materials for imagery, then use the sandblaster and kiln to create shading, depth, and texture with multiple-stage blasting, fire-polishing, and reactive effects. You’ll create light-sensitive stencils that are hand-cut, drawn, and digitally prepared. You’ll also learn how to combine multiple approaches to create new levels of depth and make 3-4 studies to explore the possibilities of these new techniques. Digital image preparation, options for enamel filling and slumping pieces will also be covered.

Printmaking or digital image editing experience is helpful but not required.
