Over the course of this workshop, you will explore open-faced mold glass casting. You'll cover basic-through-advanced kilncasting strategies through daily lectures and demonstrations.
Bring several small items that are significant or important to you, which will be used to aid in creating your artwork. You will be able to capture a thought, a memory, tell a story or a significant time in your life in glass. Participate in class discussions covering mold-making, firing schedules, coldworking and creating meaning in art. By the end of class, you should feel confident in moldmaking, kiln schedules, divesting, coldworking and firing on your own, having begun to explore your visual voice in a different way.
