This class focuses on using screen-printing techniques to fire finely detailed hand-drawn or digital artwork and photographs onto kiln-glass. Hands-on studio time allows you to practice a range of methods for transferring images onto silk screens and, ultimately, onto glass. These methods include photosensitive emulsion, screen filler, drawing fluid, hand-cut stencils, enamels, and decal transfers. By the end of this class, you will have printed and fired several finished pieces and will have acquired the skills and information to continue working on your own.
All experience levels and return students welcome.
For participation in this class, students will want to bring a laptop computer that is capable of running Photoshop Creative Cloud (CC) or Creative Suite (CS). Directions for downloading a trial version of this necessary software will be provided. Photoshop Elements or Photoshop Express will not work as substitutes. Some limited shared accommodations will be made for students without laptops.
