Create beautiful optical diversity in your glasswork through a simple, ingenious method!
In this live online class, you’ll learn to apply techniques covered in the popular ebook Optic Topics: Harmonics by Vitrum Studio. Produced in partnership with Vitrum Studio, this class introduces how to use volume control and displacement to physically distort a pattern of stringers. And once you learn to cause these distortions repeatably and intentionally, you’ll be able to weave harmonic waves into intricate symphonies of color.
This live online class includes:
- Long-term online access to the 40-minute instructional video
- 2 live class sessions over Zoom with Bullseye’s Hannah Gulick
- In-depth coverage of 3 distinct projects
- A dynamic Class Guide
- Download of the ebook Optic Topics: Harmonics (120 pages)
- Exclusive tips and techniques that are not included in the ebook!
The class will happen over two sessions:
- The first of these is a Viewing Party where you go through the video lesson chapter by chapter with your cohort and instructor Hannah Gulick. Students will be able to ask questions and get live answers throughout this session.
- The second live, online session will take place several weeks later, after you’ve had time to try the technique. During the follow up, students will review each others’ uploaded images of class projects. You’ll discuss what worked, what didn’t, and why.
With the versatile skills learned in this class, you’ll be able to add new levels of depth and sophistication to your projects. So let’s make your glasswork resonate with Optic Topics: Harmonics!
Requirements
- We will be using Zoom for the live class sessions. For optimal streaming, Zoom recommends using their desktop program or mobile app. (Only use their web service if you cannot access the other options.) In addition, we strongly recommend using a desktop or laptop computer with all of the following: high-speed internet, a web cam, a microphone, and speakers. A tablet may suffice. Phones, however, should be avoided. Smartphone screens will be too small, and a landline phone will not allow for any interactivity.
- For additional help navigating Zoom, watch our Zoom orientation video.
- Check out the class's Materials List to see what you'll need.
