Join fellow teachers in learning the fundamentals of fused glass art and studio practice. This 2.5-day workshop focuses on both creating multiple fused glass projects as well as how to prepare your studio or classroom to teach these techniques yourself. Projects will cover techniques ranging from glass cutting, basic fusing, kilncarving, and multiple approaches for jewelry and small projects.
Teachers will follow projects through the “behind the scenes” steps in order to learn the basics of studio practice, including shelf priming, kiln programming, fusing and slumping procedures, and basic firing and annealing methods. You'll also discuss possible adaptations for your classroom. As an added resource, each teacher will receive a free one-month subscription to our online video lesson program (more than 100 lessons available).
Appropriate for art teachers of all grade levels.
