The tool is a silkscreen, the material is powdered glass. Add a helping of creative inquiry and the possibilities are endless. This three-day, intensive workshop focuses on transferring and manipulating imagery printed with glass powders. We will cover the basic process of creating digital positives for up to 4-color prints, exposing silkscreens, printing and manipulating the color palette, and firing temperature to change the perception of the printed image. There will be an emphasis on experimentation. You will leave with a clear understanding of the screenprint process and a diverse range of samples that can be used as a reference for developing further works. For this class it is necessary to bring a laptop.
