Get your hands on the casting ladle and make your own sheets of colored art glass! With the assistance and encouragement of Todd Beaty, Bullseye’s energetic Casting Floor Supervisor, each participant will make two unique sheets that are yours to keep. This session will begin in the classroom where you’ll learn how glass is made and how sheets are formed. After some hands on practice with the ladle students will head out to the factory floor to make hand cast sheet glass! Afterward, you’ll tour the rest of the Bullseye factory and see your sheets roll off the lehr.
Bullseye will choose the color combination for the day. Due to space and safety constraints, no extra spectators are allowed. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and natural fibers. Protective gloves and safety glasses will be provided..
Prerequisites: Ability to lift 30 pounds and tolerate temperatures up to 120°F
